Donux: 2022 wrapped

As we wrap up another year, it’s often helpful to look back and see what we’ve accomplished in the year gone by.

2022 has been another tough year for everyone for a number of reasons.

Despite this difficult time, Donux has had the opportunity to grow further and scale up the team.

This is not solely a testimony to the high standard of work that each team member aims to produce, but it also shows that the guiding principle of Donux is striking a chord with the companies we work with: we are focused on building the right products.

In order to create the right products, we need to ask the right questions and listen.

  • What are the clients looking for?

  • What are their customers expecting?

  • What are the real pain points people face, and how can we alleviate them?

We have had the opportunity to work with a huge number of companies and help them achieve their own goals regarding their digital products.

Now, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on the year.

Before we look at Donux’s year, we want to start by focusing on the amazing team we are lucky enough to work with. They are a really talented group of designers who come from a range of backgrounds, so we’d like to hear about their goals for 2022 and how things went:

Alessio

“My main goal was to improve my soft skills as a designer. This is always a tricky thing to measure because the more you learn, the more you realise that there’s room for improvement!”

Marco

“Same here: my goal for 2022 was to be able to travel, work and improve my skills at the same time. I can't say I've completed this goal because I've had several periods of ups and downs, but somehow I'm trying to make it all come together. Certainly a goal for 2023 will be to consolidate this objective.”

Hannah

“I have a similar objective too! My aim was to improve my UI skills, because my design experience has been formed in other areas. Looking back on the year, I can see that my UI skills have definitely improved (hooray 🎉). While there’s always more room to grow, I see that my designs are getting better month on month.”

Vincenzo

“I had a slightly different goal: I wanted to focus on putting users at the center of the design process. Over the last few months, the Donux team and I have worked hard to better apply this mindset to our work. We are investing a lot in this outcome.”

Yasmine

“My goal for 2022 was to find a job that meets my interests and values: in 2021 I left a job that didn't give me satisfaction to embark on a totally new career. I'm here answering this question, so I'd say very well! 😁 I found a place that makes me learn a lot and gives me a lot of room to grow. I couldn’t be happier!”

Giustino

“I had two goals for Donux in 2022. The first one was to hire great people and have a bigger team to tackle more complex projects. The second was to improve Donux’s trust and authority in SaaS design.

The first one was a great success. We started 2022 with 4 people and now we have a group of 7. That’s already a number that enables an agency to make more elaborate planning and take on projects that need more effort.

The second one instead was not reached. I underestimated the effort that building a great team required (onboarding, creating playbooks, adapting processes to more people, etc.), so I decided to let this one more in the background. I have to say, though, that near the end of the year, Hannah stepped up to help me with content creation and planning, and as you can see from this article, things are going waaay better now. Ready to rock in 2023!”

Giuseppe

"I have focused on two main goals this year.

The first was to introduce more solid processes and tools for collecting data on our work. Donux is a data-informed company: for example, in the past 12 months, we have changed how we conduct our weekly sprints three times because the data suggested that we could improve.

The second goal was to evolve the team's skills in designing modern and systematic interfaces. We have developed an advanced design system that will allow us to offer higher quality to our customers.

The new year will bring more changes, I am sure of it!"

As we wrap up another year, we hope that our focus on building the right products has resonated with you.

As you reflect on 2022, what are your thoughts on the past year and what goals do you have for 2023?
