Donux: A look to 2023

In 2023 we are set to start initiatives to spread best practices of product design and management, while continuing to provide excellent services to our clients. Here’s to another year of designing, learning, and growing together.

At the beginning of each year we have the opportunity to reflect on the year gone by and project for the year ahead.

As designers, a large part of our work requires us to ask ourselves many questions regarding the directions of projects, our designs and how we can improve moving forward. With the dawn of a new year, we have a chance to think more globally about Donux and how things are going.

Donux team Christmas breakfast. Marco was in Bali at the same moment!

Donux had its second birthday this year which is amazing! Starting a new company is no small feat, and given the current market it becomes an even bigger achievement.

We are delighted with the growth and direction of the company so far. Our goal is to ensure that we continue to keep up our momentum and quality of work.

While reflecting on the past year, we have asked ourselves many questions about various aspects of the business. When we looked at them more closely we found that they all linked back to one key question: “Is working and focusing on B2B SaaS digital products still the right direction for the company?”

The answer is a resounding yes!

B2B users need and deserve great UX. A lot of the time, we find that users are stuck in digital apps that are reminiscent of 1999.

At home they can use products which offer great user experiences, like Spotify, Airbnb or Amazon. However, at work, they often have to fight against dated, complicated and time-consuming products just to complete a simple task.

Every user is a person and deserves a great user experience. We’re here to make sure this happens!

While this is a difficult moment for everyone economically, it is also true that the best ideas are often found during the pressure of a recession (my grandma always said that every impediment is beneficial!) For example, two huge products that launched during the last global recession were AirBnb in 2008 and Slack in 2009.

For this reason, smart founders know that improving life for their customers is the best thing to do right now.

Back to Donux: what does 2023 look like?

As we mentioned in our 2022 review, we aimed to strengthen the team and deliver fantastic services to our clients, which we did!

We also hoped to be more active in the design community which we didn’t quite manage.

Around Q3, we sat down to decide what our priorities were. We decided that strengthening the team, and our internal processes in order to support our clients in reaching their outcomes, was how we wanted to invest the remaining time of 2022.

Now we are ready to start a new year with a fantastic team of great designers who have a wide range of experience from various industries. So in 2023, our aims are:

  1. to continue designing and helping our clients build the right B2B SaaS products, and

  2. to start several initiatives to spread the best practices of product design and management.

We look forward to another year of designing, learning and growing and we wish you all the same!

We were chatting so much that we forgot to take a photo! Luckily we remembered at the last moment 😉. Marco, we missed you!
